Junction City and Manhattan boys’ basketball played Tuesday, January 14. As with the heated rivalry, this game always brings energy from players and fans in attendance. Without an open seat available, and many spectators left with standing room only, Junction City left with the win.
It was a close game coming down to overtime with Junction City eventually winning the game 66-62 over Manhattan. This game goes beyond just any other game since this is the first win for Junction City at Manhattan’s home since 2019.
“It was good to get a win and for the team to show they can overcome adversity,” said assistant coach Easton Burgardt.
The stands were packed to the brim with fans from both schools for this rivalry game and the game did not disappoint.
Junction City Boys Basketball remains undefeated in regular season games with only one loss thus far in the Dodge City invitational Tournament of Champions this past weekend against Derby.
