Senior Nicholas Throckmorton was awarded JC Optimist Junction City High School student of the month. In the nomination, Junior Optimist Club Vice President senior Rilynn Hotard shared that Throckmorton’s nomination ballot submitted by a staff member described him as kind, funny, polite, welcoming—always with a smile on his face and that he has kindness for everyone around him. This is his first time as student of the month.
Throckmorton is very active in the school and community, taking up photography with Yearbook, and also being placed in two internships, one with the J-Store and the other with JC Main Street. He can also be found with his camera at school events and also taking photography as a hobby and posting his work to Instagram. Throckmorton also works with the city as a staff member for the skating rink when it is available to the public.
When asked if he had anything he would like to share, Throckmorton said, “follow your dreams and go with your gut.”
