Tamika Allen is a senior and has been on the girls varsity team all four years of her soccer career. We sat down to learn about the start of her season.

Q: What position do you play?

A: Left and Right Mid.

Q: When did you start playing soccer?

A: When I was 5 years old.

Q: What are you looking most forward to this season?

A: The improvement that comes from all of us, including the new players, as well as putting everyone’s full potential towards the team. Also I’m looking forward to seeing how well Maja, Laura, and myself work together on the left side of the field during the season.

Q:  What happened in the game?

A: Laura scored the first goal, and that’s what tied up the game. The energy increased to break the tie. Then Maja got her goal, and with about 7 minutes left, Wichita scored again. That led us to overtime where nothing happened. So we ended up in double overtime where Maja had a wild shot and ended the game for us!

Q: Why was this win important?

A: Every win is important and it just shows us what we can do as a team. I feel like it helped the team get their confidence back and helped us get excited for the season.
