Sports Recap: Fall Sports

On September 12, 2019, The JCHS Girls Tennis team participated in a quadrangle, hosted by Washburn Rural. Varsity players Krysta Talley and Anna Torres beat Marysville 8-1, but sadly lost to Washburn Rural. Overall, the team went 2-1, a major improvement from their last quadrangle.

In that same week on September 10th, the Girls Varsity golf team participated at Salina’s golf course. Varsity players Katie Beamer and Taylor Bistodeau shot their best rounds so far this season. Bistodeau shot a 45, and Beamer a 51. Due to the small amount of players on the team, there was no team score for Junction City; however, Bistodeau individually placed 10th.

On Friday, September 13th, our Junction City Blue Jays prevailed over Washburn Rural. The final score of the night was 35 (home) to 17 (away). The Blue Jays held the lead the whole game, only allowing the Junior Blues to score twice in the first quarter, and kick a field goal in the last. JCHS Football’s next home game is September 20, with a theme of Salute the Troops. Bring all your Blue Jay pride and fill the stands with red, white, and blue. GO BLUE JAYS!
