OPINION:New Seminar Pass Policy Creates Problems

Junction City has implemented a new seminar pass policy that has been reintroduced from several years ago for seminar traveling, and I am definitely not a fan!

We are required to wait in seminar for five minutes and then return five minutes earlier. In total, thats ten minutes wasted. During that time, I could have gone to the teacher that I needed to go to and start my work. Instead, I sit around staring at the clock for five minutes straight.Teachers have always taught the students that five minutes is enough time to answer a question or two, however, during seminar that time is taken away.

Also, it has always been a rule that you must get a pass from the teacher that you plan on visiting. Now, that rule is heavily enforced; even if it is to help the teachers keep students who show up unexpectedly away, teachers are paid to help students. Students should be allowed to show up without notice to get help. Students should have unlimited access to their teachers during seminar.

The whole purpose of seminar is to get aid from teachers, and to get missing work done. The new seminar passes are making it more difficult for students who actually want to get school work finished.
