Apple Days: Pie Making

Collins Alderman, Staff Writer

The Blue Jay Battalion JROTC cadets helped prepare for apple days. A three day task of making pies and having a good time doing so. Throughout these three days there were many smiling faces willing to volunteer. Their goal was to make two thousand pies within three days.  During this process these volunteers had many jobs such as cleaning the apples, peeling the skins off the apples, cutting the apples down to size, mixing them with other yummy ingredients, putting the pies together, and finally wrapping them in a nice little package. At the end of the three pie making days all two thousands pies were made, people enjoyed themselves, and the JROTC cadets that attended earned their service learning hours, and were able to give back to the community.
