Tis the season for a new election! As you all may know, this election consisted of Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton. Both runners up seem to not be very brilliant at all, one has a strong view on Mexicans and the other is all for abortion. This election should be interesting. But, do either candidate really know what they are talking about in this election?

The “amazing” Donald Trump has said in a previous speech, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.” He automatically is assuming that all Mexicans are these stereotypical things that they are not. He also said, “I will build a great, great wall on our southern border and I will make Mexico pay for that wall.”, and “Mexico will not be taking advantage of us. They will not be having open borders.” He is intentionally, attacking Mexicans with his words. According to his Twitter account in February, he had made a tweet saying, “The Oscars were a great night for Mexico & why not – they are ripping off the US more than almost any other nation,” like REALLY Trump?! Do we REALLY want a president who won’t have equal rights or treat everyone the same? If Donald Trump becomes president this world might actually be a disaster.

Now onto Hillary, and her views on abortion. During one of Clinton’s speeches she had said, “I would like to see Planned Parenthood even get more funding,” and “Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health care (aka. abortion) and safe childbirth, and laws don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,” so what Hillary Clinton is saying is that she wants abortion to be more available to women. She makes it pretty clear that she wants women to get abortions if they don’t want their babies, instead of having the baby and giving the baby to a foster home, or other options. Hillary also says how many women are denied access to abortion and she thinks they should get abortions if they really want to and she just supports abortion in general and I don’t agree with her one bit. I agree with her if it comes down to a situation where the baby isn’t born yet, but the doctor says the baby is going to die once it’s born, and if the woman doesn’t want to deal with that pain then I would say she should get an abortion in that case but if it’s just because she isn’t ready to have a baby then that isn’t a reason to get an abortion that is her responsibility and she should either take care of the baby or give him/her to an adoption home if she feels she isn’t ready to take care of a baby.

As we know now, Donald Trump has won the election. Yes, this was devastating but that is who the people have chosen. In my opinion I think that Hillary Clinton should have been president. Yes, neither Trump nor Clinton don’t really deserve to be president because they don’t really know about certain things about the government to be able to run the country. I just prefer that Hillary Clinton should have been president, especially since she pretty much has been running the country for a while since her husband has been president. She has a better understanding of what to do to help this country, and knows more in depth on how to run as president. Some may agree with me, and a few may disagree, but overall, I hope that Trump doesn’t ruin our country and I hope that he can make things better, and I really do think that he won’t do anything but make things worse for us. All we can do is hope for the best and turn things around to prove to the nation that he won’t be bad for us.
