If you’re a returning student to JCHS, one thing you probably have, or have not noticed, is the lack of a student planner.

To some, the planner was a necessity, but to many others it was just a hall pass. Due to the lack of students that actually used the planner for organizational purposes, the school has decided not to purchase planners for the 2018-2019 school year.

“Since we’ve gotten 1-to-1 computers, which has been 3 years now, why are we still printing this document,” asked Principal Melissa Sharp about the purpose of the student planners.

Now that all students have their own HP 1-to-1 tablet, they are able to access the student handbook electronically from a document saved on their desktop Sharp said. Students can also use the calendar feature for personal organization.

With this decision the school’s building budget saved approximately $10,000.
