Upcoming School Play: Murder for Dummies

Sarah Taylor, Staff Writer

Theatre fans will have much to look forward to this fall, as JCHS prepares for the performance of the play, Murder for Dummies. The show will be held on 18th and 19th of November.

The play, Murder for Dummies, revolves around a murder gone wrong. In short, a man plans to kill his wife and creates the perfect plan to do so; he will poison her tea, sets it in front of her, and wait. Unfortunately, he never gets the chance to watch her die. At the moment she starts to drink the poison, a house full of people decide to show up, ruining his plans. Finally, someone ends up dying, but it may or may not be the person he intended.

Last Friday, the cast members were announced, kicking off the production. While everyone is excited about the performance, the director had much to say about the production. “I think it’s a great cast. We had three rehearsals so far and we’ve got more done in three rehearsals than it took me two weeks to get done last year,” Hagenmeister said. “We’ve got a lot of veteran performers in the cast and a lot of people with plenty of experience, so I think it’s going to be a good cast… I think [the performance] will go great. It will go really good.”
