It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye

My name is Kalyn Love. I have been a Junction City High School student for three years, and lived in Kansas for the past four. As a child of a military child, I am use to having to move around, but this time will be especially hard. Having to move in the middle of the second semester of my junior is bitter sweet because although I have to leave the friends I’ve made, I have the opportunity to make more friends.

I will be making the move to Fort Benning, Georgia. That is a seventeen hour drive. I’m not worried about the move to Georgia only because I have a lot of family in Georgia. Being able to see them more often is one of the benefits of making this move. I look forward to seeing my older brother more frequently than one time per year, because he is also stationed on a Georgia base.

Of course I’m not only happy about the move. I will be leaving everything that has been familiar to me for the past four years. When I leave Kansas I will have so many funny stories and sayings to bring down to the south. Coming from the South I have never heard anyone actually say “pop” when referencing soda, or pronouncing the word WASH as “worsh”. When I was new to Kansas my bubbly personality helped me make new friends, hopefully this personality trait will carry over to do the same thing when I go to Georgia.

I’m excited yet very nervous to make this move but I think I’m going to bring some Midwest flare to the dirty South. Follow me on Snapchat @love_you20 and on Instagram @bubbly_4ever. Please leave a comment; live long and prosper.
