JCHS Math Instructor, Mark Ervin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 20th

On Monday, April 20th JCHS math instructor, Mr. Mark Ervin was sent to Geary Community Hospital due to pain in his right leg. A JCHS administrator, a hall monitor and Mr. Ervin’s wife were all involved in assisting him to the hospital. After initial evaluation, Mr. Ervin was life flighted to Topeka Stormont-Vail to undergo further medical review. On the morning of Tuesday April 21st JCHS was informed of Mr. Ervin’s death.

Counseling services are being made available at both campuses for anyone in need. At the FSA, they will be located in Mrs. Reynolds office or Mrs. Palmer’s office. At the CAC, they will be located in the Library Glass room, Mrs. Tanner’s office or D208.

There will be a Celebration of Remembrance for Mark Ervin on Saturday, April 25th from 2-4 P.M. at 612 Hawthorne Circle in Junction City. It will begin with comments from Pastor Matthew Glascow and family members sharing stories. The rest of the afternoon, the family requests people to share their memories of this wonderful man.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established a Mark Ervin Math and Engineering Scholarship memorial fund through the Geary Community Schools Foundation. All contributions can be sent to Room 122 at the Deever Center with attention Margie Pinaire or you can mail them to Geary Community Schools Foundation,  900 North Eisenhower, Junction City KS.
