My Top 10 Tracks of the Summer
September 11, 2017
So far, 2017 has been a great year for music with some awesome album releases from plenty of popular and talented artists. This summer was no exception, here are some of the tracks that I was listening to while enjoying my break.
1.) The 4th of July – Ghost Mice
It’s not my favorite genre, but I definitely do enjoy some good Folk Punk. This song is from Ghost Mice’s new album, “Wake Up and Fight!”.
2.) See You Again – Tyler, The Creator
Tyler, The Creator definitely shows us he deserves his place at the top as an iconic artist in his newest album, “Flower Boy”. This is one of the more PG songs from the album and I highly recommend listening to the rest of it.
3.) The Devil’s In The Details – Mac Ayres
I’ll be honest, I don’t know a ton about this artist, but I also have to admit this song is soulful and smooth. When I want to lean back and chill, this is what’ll be coming out of my earbuds.
4.) Mexican Fender – Weezer
Weezer is an absolutely classic rock band, and while I love their older stuff, this song is light and happy, which got it a spot on my playlist.
5.) Head Like a Haunted House – Queens Of The Stone Age
Like Weezer, Queens Of The Stone Age is another classic rock band, and their newest album, “Villains” shows off their unique sound really well.
6.) Single for the Summer – Gyyps
Single for the Summer is from Gyyps newest album, “Killafornia” and barely made the cutoff for Summer, but I’m glad it did because this is a great song that I’m happy to share.
7.) Face to Face to Face – The Yawpers
This song is from The Yawpers brand new album, “Boy in a Well”. This song has a really cool punk rock sound that I’m really digging.
8.) Glow Like Dat – Rich Chigga
Rich Chigga has put out a few singles that I’ve loved over the Summer but this one is my absolute favorite so far. It has a nice bass line and the lyrics feel artful.
9.) rain on me – joji
Joji hasn’t had much of a presence lately but when he does come out from under his rock to release a song it’s generally pretty good. This song is super relaxing and exudes chill vibes.
10.) Gold – HYUKOH
This song isn’t actually an original song from HYUKOH, it’s a cover. But I much prefer it to the original by Chet Faker.
Some really great music has come out this summer and this is only a small portion of it. I encourage everybody to give these a listen even if some of the genres are a little bit out of your comfort zone. To all my readers, ? Rock On! ?
