Obituary: Katelynne Anne Bilyeu

Katelynne Anne Bilyeu, 15, of Milford, KS, passed away on May 17, 2017 at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
Bilyeu was a sophomore attending Junction City High School.
At JCHS, Katie was involved in numerous activities and organizations. She was a member of the Lady Blues Choir, Debate, Sophomore Class Committee, and Blue Jay Nation, and was elected FFA treasurer for the 2017-2018 school year. Her academic achievements include being ranked in the top 20% of the class of 2019 and receiving an academic letter during her freshman and sophomore year, along with being on her way to completing the Agriculture Pathway courses. She was also highly involved in the community, receiving 68+ hours of service learning to Next Step Ministries, The Green Dress Project, and Fort Riley.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene, 1025 N Washington St., Junction City, KS.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, 2:00 pm at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene.
Students interested in attending the funeral service can receive a bus ride provided by JCHS. Students will need to meet in front of the main entrance at 1:00 p.m. Students will not need a permission slip, but should be excused by their legal guardians.
A small committal service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017, 1:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Greensburg, KS.

Katie was born on August 11, 2001, Wichita, Kansas to Dennis and Angela (Callis) Bilyeu. She moved to Milford, Kansas, in August 2007. Katie attended the Junction City school district, completing the tenth grade.
She is survived by her loving family: Parents Dennis and Angela Bilyeu of Milford, KS; Brother Dayton Bilyeu of Milford, KS; Grandparents Andrew and Katherine Bilyeu of Wellington, KS; Grandfather Doug Callis of Pratt, KS; Uncle Dave (Jade) Bilyeu of Wellington, KS; Cousins Spencer and Trenton Bilyeu; Aunt ReGayla (Jim) Hawkins; Cousin Dadrealle Hawkins of Louisana, MO; Uncle Troy (Robin) Callis of Medicine Lodge, KS; Aunt Andrea (Clint) Webber; and Cousins Rykyr and Henley Webber of Derby, KS. Katie is also survived by many extended family members.
