My Senior Farewell: Stephanie Austin
May 15, 2017
As the 2016-2017 school year comes to a close, it’s time for me, like all other seniors, to say farewell. In the three years that I’ve attended Junction City High School, I’ve made many great memories. From all of my favorite classes and teachers, to my closest friends, it’ll be hard to say goodbye.
When I moved here the summer before my sophomore year, I thought I would hate it. I missed my old school and my old friends. However, I soon learned that Junction City was a great place. I started making friends and memories that I’ll never forget. I’m glad to have spent my high school years here in Junction City. Even though there were a few downfalls and rough patches, I wouldn’t change a thing. My experiences in school are part of who I am. I pushed through even when I thought it was too much to handle. I wish I could let my younger self see where I am now, to tell myself “you’ll make it,” and “just hold on, you’re gonna go far.”
High school has taught me more than just academics. I’ve learned who my true friends are. I discovered who I am and learned more about other people. The people here are so great, from the students to the staff. The teachers really work with you and help as best they can. It’s such a great learning atmosphere. Junction City High School may not be perfect, but there is no other school I would have rather attended.
My advice to future graduates is to enjoy the little things. Join clubs and sports. Do whatever you want to do. Don’t let anything or anyone hold you down. Strive to be your best and don’t give up. High School can be a difficult time for anyone and it can seem so long. But the time goes by faster than you think. Eventually, you’ll make it to graduation too and you’ll have the satisfaction of saying you made it. Good luck future graduates! Thanks to all the people who made high school a great place for me!
