Blue Jays Split With The Buffaloes

The baseball team team traveled to Garden City to face the Buffaloes on Monday. The first game of the double header began at 1 o’clock.

Ty Clark had the honor of starting the first game of the season on the mound. The junior went 5 innings before getting replaced by reliever, Jensen Porter. A mixture of errors and hits lead to the Buffaloes jumping to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. The Blue Jays began to fight back with runs of their owns, but could not muster up a full come back.  The final score of the first game was 6-3.

Tim Bell started on the mound for game two. He went strong for 5 shutout innings. Tim also had a great day at the plate. He drove in two runs and hit two doubles. Easton Rindt also had a good day at the plate, including a double.

Thane McDaniel and Charlie Peyla finished off the game on the mound. The flame-throwing duo looked dominate and sealed the shut-out. The final score of the second game was 3-0.

The Blue Jays travel to Emporia to play the Spartans on Friday.
