JCHS Bands Perform at Community Ice Cream Social
September 17, 2014
On September 14th, the birthday of our National Anthem, Junction City citizens came out to support the fundraising event for the Geary County
Historical Society Museum. The annual event included a Cake Wake game in which the winner gets a free cake, the selling of food such as hot dogs, homemade ice cream and cookies (which was VERY good), and other baked goods such as pie’s. The money that was raised at this event benefited the Historical Museum which was opened for walk-ins.
Among the crowd where Junction City High School students. The entertainment was provided by our own Jazz Band and Orchestra. The ice cram social is one of the first performances by both of these groups and provides a casual setting for students to showcase their talents.
“We always have gotten positive feedback every year from the audience” said Mr. TJ Taylor, Marching Band and Jazz Band Director.
