“My mother made me who I am today. She works really hard at what she does.

She always provides for me and my sisters, I have two sisters and they’re both in college now, so she’s providing for them too. She tries to help us in any way she can.

My mom is a single parent, which makes it ten-times harder. My dad lives in Kansas City, and he has kids of his own now, so he provides for them and does things for them.

If i didn’t have her, I wouldn’t be as hard working as I am now. My mom is the one who pushed me to do a lot of what I do today.

For example, I didn’t want to do college algebra, but she told me it would good for me to do it and learn it. So, I did it–and I passed! So that was a plus.”

Birds of the Nest is an in-depth look at the significant moments in the life of individuals in our community.
