Junction City Girls Soccer Preview

The school year is flying by, and the spring is coming up! Soccer season will start up once again as the girls take the field this spring with high hopes and a bright season ahead of them. A very young varsity team looks to improve on a disappointing season in 2016.

With long-time Blue Jays returning for their final season of high school soccer like Center Defender Jasmine Barry, Midfielder Arianna Ahlers, and Center Midfielder Jaydon Zima, the team will be in good hands and under great leadership.

The young team also brought in the varsity girls’ basketball star, Ally Mckenzie, an exciting addition to the team who will be playing Goalie this season. This is Ally’s first season playing soccer for the Blue Jays and looks forward to take on the season under the mentorship of former goalie, JC Alumni, Madeline Clark.

The team captains have emphasized that their focus to start off the new season, is a quick development, and a growth in team chemistry.

“Being able to have more team unity, and learning the basics sooner will enable us to win more games,” said Varsity Co-captain, Jaydon Zima.

They are also very optimistic about the new goalie.

“So far she has impressed me. I am excited to see how she improves as a goalie,” Varsity Co-captain, Jasmine Barry said.

The girls look forward to a very anticipated season with high expectations and seek to improve beyond last year.
