Playoffs are back In Junction City
The playoffs are back in Junction City after a successful 7-1 campaign through the regular season. The Blue Jays closed out the season with wins against Gateway Stem and Topeka Seamen following the crushing loss to the rival Manhattan Indians. Junction City however, was not able to maintain their position in the top five 6A teams, resulting in a lower playoff seed.
Junction City hosted Wichita West last Friday night in their first round playoff game. Wichita West, entered the game fresh off a winning streak consisting of the only three victories of their season. Wichita was no match for the high scoring Junction City offense. The Blue Jays walked off the field victorious, beating the Pioneers 58-24.
Junction City is now preparing to face off against fourth seed Hutchinson who just came off a 56-21 victory against Haysville. The Regional round will begin this Friday night when the fifth seed Blue Jays travel to Hutchinson looking to advance to Sectionals, anticipating the Sectionals rematch against Derby.
