Highly Anticipated: August Albums
More stories from Rob Terry Jr
Two albums that have been highly anticipated were recently were released. Frank Ocean and Tory Lanez, two R&B music artists had promised fans with release dates of 8/12/16 and 8/19/16 for their new projects. Ocean may have been holding out longer than Lanez but these new albums were still waited on heavily by many fans.
Frank has promised this album for four years now and many of us have waited. He has teased us with several fake drops dates like his last one of 8/12/16 which left fans skeptical of whether or not he was ever going to release this project. A large majority of his fans were so upset that they started to create memes mocking this album calling it a “ghost project.” When he spontaneously dropped the project many fans were surprised. This project was composed very nicely will several amazing tracks such as “Nikes,” “Solo” and“Skyline To”. Overall this project was very composed and well worth the wait. Blonde generated more than 65.4 million streams.

Another project promised to fans awhile back was “I Told You” by Tory Lanez. Tory is a well known rapper/singer who comes from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His musical style is often compared to Drake but with this brand-new project, I think he has separated himself finally.
He implemented his style of rapping and singing mixed with plenty of skits detailing points in his life where he struggled. This led his fans to get to know him on a more personal level which only made the project better. “I Told You” has reached the US Billboard 200 at four US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums at number two which shows how well the album did.
So even though we have to go back to school and this amazing summer ‘16 has to end, you get to start the school year off right. Now if you want something to jam through the hallways with during school hours download, “I Told You” and “Blonde”.
